Inbound Orientation Conference
August 18, 2017 @ 11:00 am - August 20, 2017 @ 11:00 am
The 2017 Inbound students will be welcomed to District 6220 at the Inbound Orientation Conference on August 18-19-20 in beautiful Marquette, Michigan, on the southern shores of Lake Superior, the world’s largest freshwater lake.
This Inbound Conference is hosted by the three Rotary clubs in Marquette — Marquette Breakfast, Marquette Noon, and Marquette West.
Inbounds will have time to get to know each other and get introduced to our District staff. They’ll learn a little about the culture of the United States, and how to recognize “hidden cultural clues” which will surround them in their new homes and communities. We’ll go over the Rules of Rotary, and how to be safe. We’ll do some goal-setting for the year, and show them how to put together a first-class exhibit for the October Conference Culture Fair.
There will be plenty to eat and a few fun activities as well, including a hike up Marquette’s famous Sugarloaf Mountain. Students will be hosted by families in the Marquette area. The conference starts at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, and finishes up at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.
