Rebound & Rotex: A Continued Journey
Rotary Youth Exchange is more than just a year abroad—it’s a transformative experience that lasts well beyond your return. After their exchange year, Rebounds return to the U.S., facing a year of reintegration, reflecting on their growth, and navigating life between two cultures. District 6220 supports this transition with a Rebound Weekend Retreat where students reconnect and share their experiences.
Rotex students, who have been back for over a year, play a key role in guiding Outbounds, offering valuable insights and advice at conferences. Their experiences and wisdom help prepare new exchange students for their journey ahead.
We’re fortunate to have Dr. Dennis White, a clinical psychologist and expert in cultural assimilation, as a key contributor to our program. He helps Rebounds process their experiences and provides ongoing support. Dr. White’s work with youth exchange programs globally continues to shape our approach.
